DEAR MEDITERRANEAN REFUGEE MUSICIAN, As you must know, the year 2001 marks the 50th anniversary of the United Nations High Command for Refugees. I was in Sarajevo for a few days during the war on invitation of the UNHCR to meet and play with local musicians, and I humbly and gratefully dedicate the Terra Media Bulletin Board to my lasting memory of that brief but deeply moving experience, in the earnest hope that you will find it useful and enjoyable. Indeed, the very idea of organizing this section the way I have was born while thinking about what I could do to make a contribution. You may have a few street and e-mail addresses of other refugee and expat musicians from your homeland, but, in all likelihood, you've lost touch with most of them in the shuffle. Terra Media proposes itself as the perfect virtual meeting-place for all of you, a neutral ground to exchange info, set up get-togethers, announce concerts, etc. So I invite you to join the Club and start communicating with other refugee musicians from your area using this unique service.
