A Catalan pearl from Alghero
She's been defined "the revelation of Catalan music for the year
2000". The curious thing is that Franca Masu is an Italian, from
Alghero, where the dialect is indeed archaic Catalan. "El meu
viatge" (Saint Rock, www.saintrock.com) is a pearl of
world-jazz music perfected at the home of Antonello Venditti and produced
by the American musician Mark Harris, arranger with such artists as
De André and Pausini.
