Erika Cecchini
"In My Bed"

The voice: somewhere between Tracy Chapman and Tanita Tikaram. Melodies and lyrics (in English):shades of Tori Amos and Alanis Morissette. Comparisons are odious, but it isn't easy to describe an artistic debut without citing examples that clarify what can be legitimately expected from a girl gifted with remarkable spontaneity in composing and a strong vocal personality. It's hard to believe, listening to the record, that Erika Cecchini was born in Rome, and that this is her first opus, given the intensity and coherence of the sixteen tracks that make up "In My Bed". Songs that tell of true life, of feelings, with Erika's voice transmitting emotions on a sinewy fabric of guitars and rhythm sections free of excessive studio alchemy and legerdemain. One minus point: the relative difficulty of finding the CD. Try the label's website: www.saintrock.com, or get in touch with us.
