ERIKA CECCHINI

Cosmopolitan, in heart and mind. Such is Erika Cecchini, extraordinary new voice on the Italian rock scene, who writes and sings in English and has just released her first album: In my bed. With a powerful voice and the guts to refuse a "major" record contract to follow a path closer to her artistic aspirations, Erika is a both a woman with nerves of steel and a "pure" romantic. Of Roman origins, but transplanted to Milan a year or so ago, she confesses that she'd like to work one day with Nick Cave, the Australian maudit rocker adored as well by Wim Wenders and PJ Harvey.
