IN MY BED
Erika Cecchini
2000, 16 tracks
A splendid and musically rich debut for an Italian songstress who -
alone, one should point out, on the national panorama - makes no mystery
of her Lesbianism, which is one of the fundamental elements of her lyrics.
On the 16 tracks of this entirely self-penned first opus, Erika Cecchini
expresses her musical passion for Anglo-American female singersongwriters
(Tracy Chapman, Tori Amos, etc.) in a highly personal vein, both through
her performances and her compositions. Use of the English language is
the logical consequence of her international musical journey, and the
lyrics are emotionally intense, recreating vivid scenes from real life.
One can hope for nothing better than to have a second CD, and soon!
Her interviews are to be found in the major gay and Lesbian press.
